Job Overview

A postdoctoral research position is available immediately in microbial pathogenesis and immunotoxicology laboratory at the Department Environmental and Public Health Sciences, University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, Cincinnati, Ohio, USA

Essential Functions

  • Perform research on immunology as related to investigating etiological and mechanistic aspects of host-toxicant or host-pathogen interactions. This position offers opportunity in
  • Use cellular and rodent models for dissecting immunotoxicity or immune disease susceptibility mechanisms with particular focus on understanding pathogenic antigens/epitopes, effector cells, APC-lymphocyte activation and response pathways as modified by microbiome.
  • Work with animal models to help dissect cross-talk/interactions with microbiome in lung-gut axis.
  • Cutting-edge single cell analysis, immunophenotyping, and OMICs approaches.
  • Extend studies to human subjects to understand immunophenotypic and molecular biomarkers of environmental stresses and toxicant exposures and response.


Required Education

A PhD or equivalent degree in immunology or related life sciences.

Additional Qualifications Considered

Prior experience in immunology- or microbiology- related research will be ideal. Salary will be commensurate with relevant experience.
