Position: Biologist II (Histotechnologist) Location: Abbott Park, IL Duration: 6 Months + Extension Job Summary: We are looking for a Histotechnologist (HT Certification or working towards HT Certification preferred) to join the Dermatopathology team (Candidates who have previous experience in a Dermatopathology lab would be an ideal fit for this)! The chosen Candidate will be running routine Histology including but not limited to: Receive specimens from investigators, accessioned into tracking system, examine, gross/trim and follow assigned fixation routines. Ability to operate processing equipment, manage samples, reagents and program routine protocols, as well as troubleshoot the system. Candidates must have the ability to follow SOPs for Embedding and sectioning; adhere to standards for uniformity for tissue types and within studies. He/She will also run routine H&E and special staining protocols as well as other misc duties: Block/slide filing and archiving. Staining and processing supplies and reagent management. Possess good organizational and time management skills, work well independently or in a team setting, show proficiency using MS Office, Excel and general computer skills. *** Position is set to run for 6 months to start, but could be extended based on performance and department budget so please be sure Candidates can work for up to 2 Years if needed. *** While we sincerely appreciate all applicants, only those get selected for interview will be contacted.
