The Oncology Discovery group has an opportunity available for a skilled Scientist, in vitro molecular biologist/cell biologist/biochemist who will make contributions to the progression of oncology drug discovery programs in a collaborative environment. Responsibilities: The successful candidate will be a member of a cancer biology team focused on delivering quality drug candidates for therapeutic targets. Responsibilities will include biochemical and cellular assay development, routine cellular/biochemical assays to enable SAR studies, cell signaling and mechanism of action studies, cell line engineering, compound preparation and handling, assay troubleshooting, data analysis and data reporting. Excellent teamwork and communication skills and adherence to good laboratory conduct, documentation practices and safety guidelines are essential. Basic: MUST have at least 3 yrs post academic/industry research experience. Cancer biology and/or drug discovery experience a plus. Having fundamental understanding of molecular/cellular biology principles and experience with mammalian cell culture are essential. Detailed working knowledge of the molecular approaches routinely applied to cellular biology studies (e.g. FACS, ELISA, Western blotting, cloning, cellular phenotyping, etc) strongly preferred. Ability to independently conduct and interpret experiments, prepare reports, present information to colleagues, and effectively function in a goal-oriented team environment. Assignment set for 12 months but could be extended based on performance and project need, so please only submit Candidates to this posting that can work for a full 2 years if required.
