Job Title: Shipping and Receiving Location:100 Research Drive Worcester Worcester MA 01605 Duration: 6+ months of Contract (Possibility of extension) We are seeking a highly motivated individual with a Degree (AS or BS) in Life Sciences (Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Microbiology, etc..) to fill this role. This position would be responsible for coordinating the shipment of biologics, biological samples and chemicals both domestically and internationally. This position would also work some of the time as a laboratory technician supporting core lab services (Pharmacy/ Assay Lab) . The successful candidate will be expected to interface with the research community and provide logistics support for requests submitted through the GCLOs shipping application. Key Responsibilities: Preparation of documentation for and packaging of biological and chemical shipments. Tracking of shipments. Entry and maintenance of shipping records. Maintaining shipping supply inventory. Weighing out of compounds on precision balance equipment. Utilizing automated pipetters for dilution and plate preparation. Qualifications Basic: Candidates should have a Bachelors degree in biology or related scientific discipline. High level organizational skills. Able to react quickly to rapidly changing priorities and circumstances. Experience with Microsoft Office Applications, including Excel, Word, Access. Demonstrated problem solving skills with strong oral and written communication skills. Preferred: Experience in shipping and logistics, trade compliance or dangerous goods. Experience with SAP or Trade Compliance software a BIG plus. Knowledge of basic chemistry. Experience with laboratory automation. Familiarity with basic laboratory safety practices. * Assignment set for 6 months but could be extended based on performance and department need. Best Regards,
