Job Description:
Scientist
In this role you will perform a variety of field and office tasks requiring the application of standard scientific principles and fundamental theories. Typical assignments may include collecting samples of various environmental media and preparing charts, maintaining remediation equipment, and graphs in support of reporting requirements. Work will be performed in our office and at our client's property in the Fayetteville, NC area. There will be an extensive amount of field work in support of this project. Some assignments involve application of computer software. Willingness to travel and/or relocate to field sites is expected.
Responsibilities:
- Performs a variety of field and office tasks requiring the application of standard scientific principles and fundamental theories.
- May lead field teams by planning, organizing, and directing the work in the field under the supervision of the Project Manager
- Provides technical guidance to lower-level Scientists and Technicians.
- Completion of field documentation and forms (electronic and/or paper logs)
- May be required to write technical papers
- Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a science curriculum related to the assigned discipline
- 1-3 years of related work experience
- Working knowledge of software packages typically associated with the discipline is required
- A familiarity with environmental rules and regulations is preferred
- Requires a demonstrated proficiency in both written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work self-sufficiently or as part of a team
- Current 40-hour HAZWOPER Training
