JOB SUMMARY:
The Environmental Coordinator is responsible for assisting with the management of all regulated environmental functions within the facility and will provide environmental reporting and ensure regulatory compliance at the HAECO Lake City Facility. This position will support programs for the disposal of hazardous and universal waste, manage the operation of the wastewater pretreatment system, and perform duties at the direction of the Environmental Manager.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
Assist with environmental incident investigations to determine root cause and work with facility management to implement corrective action to prevent reoccurrence. Comply with and ensure compliance of company policies and programs. Implement environmental programs as needed in accordance with HAECO, FDEP and EPA requirements. In the absence of the Environmental Manager act as principal point of contact for any environmental issue. Conduct periodic and scheduled facility environmental inspections as necessary. Draft environmental related correspondence policy and procedures. Write and distribute environmental related topics to be reviewed at crew meetings. Maintain all record keeping procedures for all environmental program required documentation. Monitor the effectiveness of the environmental training programs and adjust the programs to ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements. Serve on the Emergency Response Team and serve as the Alternate Emergency Coordinator. Be the Wastewater Pretreatment Operator. Process wastewater and monitor functions. Supervise the collection and disposal of Hazardous and Universal Wastes. Assist with all required environmental permits and reports including but not limited to:
MINIMUM:
Duties require the equivalent of a four-year (4) college degree in Environmental Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related area and one (1) to five (5) years progressively responsible experience OR the equivalent combination of education and expertise. Must possess knowledge of Federal, State, and Local regulations and their impact/application pertaining to the responsibilities of this position and a thorough working knowledge of EPA regulations. Computer skills including typical office software. Must have excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to read, write, and understand the English language. Visual Acuity must be a minimum of 20/40 corrected. Within 12 months have or obtain RCRA 40-hour State specific Hazardous Waste Management Training in accordance with 40 CFR265.16 and maintain annual recertification.
