Position Summary
Expertise in many types of nucleic acid handling and assays with purified protein is required: PCR, restriction digestion, gel electrophoresis, colorimetric assays, biochemical assays, and assays with spectrophotometric readouts, etc.
Experience with integral membrane proteins and nanodiscs are also desirable.
Duties will also include acquiring accurate and precise data to build data sets with many different proteins and biomolecules and working as part of a cross-functional team to automate collection of biological and chemical data for drug discovery.
You will work in concert with numerous cross-functional teams, comprising machine learning engineers, life scientists, automation engineers and data scientists.
You will demonstrate world-class research skills and experience in developing and using cutting-edge molecular biology methods.
Specifically, you will:
Process DNA samples for NGS sequencing
Contribute to the design, development, and validation of biochemical assays including assays involving nanodiscs and integral membrane proteins
Participate in the design, development, optimization, validation and integration of automation processes for high-throughput parallel assays and analysis
Ideal Candidate Profile:
PhD in molecular biology, chemical/bioengineering or equivalent with 1-3 years of relevant experience in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry
Hands-on experience with molecular biology techniques including but not limited to PCR, qPCR, transcription, reverse transcription, gel electrophoresis in a high-throughput setting
Hands-on experience with purified biochemical assays with colorimetric or spectrophotometric readouts especially in a high-throughput context
Adept in handling liquid dispensers, plate readers and similar lab equipment
Strong data-entry and analysis skills. Experience in Google Suite, Confluence, and LIMS system is preferred
Nice to Have
Experience in sequencing and bioinformatics (DNA sequences, RNAseq etc.)
Experience in assays conducted with integral membrane proteins, especially when using nanodiscs
Experience with automation/liquid handling
A demonstrated expertise in scientific programming (e.g., Python, Java, C++, SVL) with practical application of these skills is a strong plus
