The Environmental, Health & Safety Manager for Healthmark Industries is responsible for ensuring facility compliance with EHS requirements and local, state, and federal governmental regulations. Keys to success in this position are driving EHS improvements, tackling and implementing EHS projects and initiatives through collaborating and gaining buy-in with multiple levels of management and employees in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities
  • Formulates, implements, and manages the Health, Safety and Environmental programs across the organization.
  • Coordinates drills, performs various inspections, and develops timely written survey reports with recommendations for corrective actions as appropriate and follows through the execution of those changes.
  • Identifies, interprets, and implements federal, state, and local OSHA/MIOSHA safety regulations and/or standards that pertain to the organization's operations. Monitors OSHA regulatory requirements and communicates potential impacts to operations.
  • Leads safety committee meetings and all related projects including SDS compliance, emergency response and first aid.
  • Manages workplace incident investigations to include responding to and reporting all incidents, near misses, incident investigations, root cause, establishing of recurrence prevention plans in the workplace.
  • Measure's safety performance, identifies key injury and/or safety trends, and communicates these to management teams with recommendations for improvement.
  • Administers workers compensation: communicate with claims adjustors and medical professionals on a case-by-case basis. Ensures OSHA logs are accurate and annual filling complete.
  • Supports Disaster Recovery program manager with various administrative duties.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Business, or related field required plus 3-5 years' related experience in EHS role - preferable in Assembly, Warehouse or equivalent combination of education and work or Military experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office - intermediate Excel skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strengths including communication; leadership; effective presentation skills; coaching; crisis management; motivation; team building; organization; self-starter; time management; stress management.
  • Effective in delivering results with little supervision.
  • A high level of corporate professionalism, maturity, and political savvy.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with and achieve actionable results through others, plus the ability to build strong and sustainable relationships (both internally and externally), and the capability to interact within all levels of the organization.
  • Flexibility, resourcefulness, and an ability to thrive in a fast-paced, growing environment.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule; will be needed to work 'off shifts'.
