Research Entomologist
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The primary responsibilities of this role, Research Entomologist, are to:
- Develop and implement laboratory bioassays to characterize activity of insecticidal compounds on target and non-target arthropods under GLP;
- Develop rearing methods for new arthropods brought into the lab for expanded testing;
- Work collaboratively across various Bayer Crop Science (BCS) functions to develop and author technical reports that enable product registrations;
- Address regulator questions around activity spectrum and interaction studies to support product registrations;
- Develop peer-reviewed publications in accordance with product strategy;
- Drive adoption of new processes, digitization and efficiency gains in arthropod receipt, handling, dosing, scoring and reporting.

Your success will be driven by your demonstration of our LIFE values. More specifically related to this position, Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science with at least seven years of relevant experience in Entomology, Toxicology, Zoology, Ecotoxicology or related discipline OR Master of Science with at least five years of relevant experience OR Ph.D. with at least three years of relevant experience;
- Significant hands-on experience in conducting insect bioassays in laboratories, growth chambers and greenhouses;
- Experience in dose-response relationships evaluating effects of test substances on mortality, development, behavior and weight of arthropods;
- Demonstrated ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects at the same time;
- Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate technical aspects to audiences of different backgrounds;
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate across teams and excellent interpersonal skills.
