Job Description
Salveo Diagnostics, Inc. ("Salveo") is seeking full-time Medical Laboratory Scientists (Mass Spec, Auto Chem, Special Chem, Molecular/Microbiology) for our medical diagnostic testing laboratory.

Position Overview:

The Medical Laboratory Scientist is responsible for performing moderate and high complexity testing with strict adherence to regulatory requirements. All the duties and responsibilities will be performed according to laboratory guidelines and procedures.

Required Education, Skills and Experience:
  • Minimum education includes a bachelor's degree in one of the following: chemistry, human biological science, clinical laboratory science or a MLT degree with significant laboratory testing experience
  • ASCP certified or eligible
  • Also desired is one year of laboratory training and experience in clinical laboratory testing
  • In -depth knowledge of complex laboratory techniques, laboratory safety and quality assurance to support ongoing and future projects
  • Ability to communicate well through written and verbal means
  • Proficient with statistical and computer productivity software (i.e. Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Experience with/knowledge of ELISA, IFA, and/or electrophoresis testing methodologies preferred.
  • Experience with/knowledge of operating automated clinical chemistry instrumentation preferred.


Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
  • Adhere to Salveo's procedures and protocols to ensure testing is accurate and run in an appropriate manner with strict adherence to quality assurance standards
  • Strong skills in good laboratory practices
  • Provide reliable and precise data using automated and semi-automated analyzers and manual techniques
  • Responsible for the performance, quality assessment and reporting of assigned analytical test procedures
  • Calibrate, maintain and operate instruments in assigned area;
  • Document procedures performed and follow the laboratory's established policies and procedures whenever testing systems are not within the laboratory's defined acceptable levels of performance.
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and corrective action as necessary on assigned laboratory instrumentation
  • Prepare calibrators and perform assay calibrations according to established protocols
  • Prepare quality control material and perform quality control assessments according to protocols
  • Prepare reagents according to laboratory procedures and protocols
  • Knowledge of quality control and assurance processes. Assays quality control for each test and documents results
  • Interpret, accept and releases patient test results and follows protocol for critical values
  • Perform or assist with troubleshooting and process improvements
  • Maintain sufficient levels of reagent and consumable supplies in assigned area
  • Adhere to the laboratory's health and safety guidelines
  • Ability to work and meet deadlines in a fast paced, changing environment
  • Provide training to other laboratory personnel as needed
  • Write and/or review laboratory documents such as procedures and departmental forms
  • Work on special projects as needed
  • Adhere to and uphold all applicable federal and state compliance regulations as well as Salveo's Code of Conduct and Ethical Responsibility, compliance policies and procedures, and applicable healthcare fraud, waste and abuse laws.
