JOB SUMMARY

The Field Technician II is responsible for supporting the overall operation of the laboratory in Pittston, PA by both collecting and picking up samples of a variety of sample types, storing and delivering them to the designated laboratory location in an efficient and timely manner while following all established SOP's and safety guidelines.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Safely and efficiently operate a company vehicle to drive to and from client locations for the purposes of collecting and retrieving samples, and deliver them to the laboratory
  • Provide exceptional customer service while promoting the Company's brand through professional interactions with clients and observable safe driving practices
  • Collect various types of environmental samples as well as pick-up previously collected samples and deliver them to the laboratory
  • Perform field analysis pertinent to proper sampling protocol such as pH, temperature and flow
  • Maintain sample collection equipment and instrumentation
  • Maintain storage of samples in accordance with established SOP's
  • Ensure legal documentation is complete and accurate (i.e.; Chain of Custody Forms)
  • Maintain regular communication with internal management regarding samples, schedules, customer requirements, problems, delays, and/or complaints
  • Observe all applicable roadway laws
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the Company vehicle
  • Maintain accurate logs, records and other documentation as required
  • Prepare sample containers to be delivered and used by customers to collect samples.
  • Ensure samples are appropriate labeled and assist with sample log-in efforts
  • Provide technical assistance to customers within realm of capabilities; or refer to senior management
  • May organize, plan and schedule own pickup routes based on communicated needs of customers


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • High-school diploma
  • A minimum of 2 years of related experience
  • Familiarity with automated sampling techniques and/or knowledge and understanding of general principles of sanitation and proper sample handling and storage
  • Ability to set up and remove sampling equipment
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instruction
  • Above average attention to detail
  • Good verbal communication skills
  • Ability to operate a Company vehicle and observe all applicable safety protocols and laws
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record (over previous 36 months)
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Associate degree in a related field of study
