Basic Summary
We are seeking a Research Associate I, Microbiology for our Biologics Testing Solutions site located inMalvern, PA. You may be required to work a rotating shift schedule that may require weekend hours.
Assist Supervisor and other scientific staff by working independently on client-specific experimental design, moderately complex professional tasks, report development, quality control, and research.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Efficiently organize and plan daily activities, including activities of less senior departmental technicians. Provide technical guidance and training to less experienced technicians.
- Assist with client communication and project tracking and coordination.
- Perform a variety of microbiological laboratory experiments, tests and procedures following well-defined techniques and guidelines, including but not limited to:
- assays for the detection of mycoplasma,
- bioburden (non-sterile/sterile),
- phage, various verification and/or qualification testing,
- environmental monitoring and associated trending and/or contamination control activities.
- Make detailed observations and accurately and precisely record data.
- Summarize data for reports; perform simple graphic analysis of data.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree (B.S./B.A.) or equivalent in biology or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 3 - 5 years bioanalytical research laboratory experience required.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above.
- Demonstrated strong technical writing, oral communication and organizational skills desired.
- Strong computer skills, problem solving and attention to detail.
- Must be proficient in the use of current software tools utilized in the Microbiology Department.
- Familiarity with data management required.
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
