How will you make an impact?
You will work in a multidisciplinary team of engineers and molecular biologists to lead genetic analysis development projects. The projects include applications for existing and new product platforms, performance improvements, and custom products. Duties will include, but not limited to, leading and executing studies on various qPCR and sample preparation platforms, designing assays, analyzing, and presenting results. This individual will be working closely with molecular biologists, system engineers, as well as directly with customers, and is desired to have background knowledge of the related fields.

- Independently design and perform qPCR experiments to screen variables and optimize workflows
- Write detailed SOPs, analyze data, and generate reports
- Troubleshoot instrument and workflow failures
- Work with interdisciplinary group, as well as directly with customers to develop custom solutions.
How will you get here?
Education
Ph.D. degree in biochemistry, molecular biology, or other related fields OR
M.S. degree in biochemistry, molecular biology, or other related fields with 5-10 years of working experience in biotechnology industry OR
B.S degree with 10+ years of relevant working experience
Experience
- Experience with a variety of laboratory instrumentation for qPCR, sample preparation, and automation
- Experienced in leading qPCR assay development and instrumentation projects
- Experienced with current molecular biology techniques for qPCR and nucleic acid purification/ preparation
- Proficient with JMP, R or similar tools for statistical analysis and visualization
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Proficient with developing and optimizing genetic analysis workflows
- Deep understanding of bioinformatics and available resources/tools for designing assays
- Motivated and demonstrate adaptability to work in a fast-paced team environment
- Demonstrate good laboratory practices and accurate/precise pipetting techniques and maintains a detailed and organized lab notebook
- Resourceful and flexible with strong troubleshooting skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
