The Resource is hiring an Environmental, Health & Safety Specialist for our client, a manufacturer of power generators located in Lexington! This is a Contract opportunity offering an excellent pay rate, with a 1st shift working schedule (7: 00am-3: 30pm). The EHS Specialist is responsible for ensuring the facility complies with all applicable Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) requirements (Local, State, Federal and company policies, conducting safety audits, and working closely with multi-disciplinary teams to establish necessary programs and trainings). Candidates must have detailed knowledge and practical application experience of EHS regulations, an understanding of the issues related to manufacturing and delivery/service environments, and strong written and verbal communication skills. Responsibilities:
- Ensure employees and operations maintain compliance with all environmental, health and safety regulations, and keep abreast of any changes to laws and regulations that impact the organization
- Collect and report appropriate metrics, evaluate data, and provide input for management reviews, with a focus on continuous improvement and enhancement of EHS performance
- Assist with the implementation of EHS policies, practices, guidelines, and procedures
- Identify location-specific requirements for each area and participate in the development of related programs and policies
- Contribute to the development of training programs and conduct training to comply with regulatory corporate EHS initiatives
- Organize and report on the incident/accident investigation process including root cause analysis and ensure corrective actions are completed
- Conduct environmental, health and safety audits and risk assessments at facility
- Participate in external EHS compliance audits and loss prevention audits
- Support and coordinate the completion of all corrective actions with site personnel
- Liaise with facilities maintenance and property management personnel to ensure appropriate fire and life safety controls are in place and maintained
- Oversee required permitting submissions for air, water, and land jurisdictional requirements
- Collaborate with employees to identify and implement solutions to safety issues identified in inspections and investigations
- Promote a ‘ S.A.F.E. First' culture where all employees are actively engaged in performing work in a safe manner
- Analyze and review site EHS programs to ensure they are aligned with global safety directives
- Sustain, develop and enhance the site' s environmental, safety and energy management systems

Qualifications:
- At least 4-years of experience in an environmental, health and safety position, preferably in a manufacturing environment
- Bachelors Degree in Environmental, Health and Safety Management or related field is preferred
- Experience in managing multiple projects
- Experience in electrical safety, PIT safety, training and ergonomics is a plus
- Possess a comprehensive knowledge of environmental, health and safety guidelines and regulations
- Working knowledge of health and safety engineering, and a highly refined understanding of the issues related to manufacturing and delivery/service environments
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to communicate through all levels of the organization
