We are looking for a highly skilled and responsible Safety, Health & Environmental Officer to join our Miami based team.

Responsibilities:

This position will oversee the company's safety, health, and environmental compliance to reduce and prevent employee injuries, accidents, occupational illnesses, exposure to long-term health hazards, and decrease the environmental aspects and impacts associated with the company's operations.

  • Ensures that Company safety procedures are followed and all personnel is trained.
  • Makes sure that environmental health and safety standards are met by conducting frequent audits
  • Serves as the first point of contact with regulatory agencies on all EH&S matters
  • Carries out risk assessment of work areas following incidents or Workers Compensation cases. Works closely with insurance providers and adjusters to ensure timely and safe return to work for injured employees.
  • Coordinates safety and health exposure assessments, hazard evaluations, and environmental aspects analysis of operations. Runs safety committees.
  • Responsible for managing ISO 9001, company's quality management system.
  • Completes routine job analysis, observations, inspections, and audits on all EH&S related matters.
  • Maintains EHS records of incidents and best practices. Conducts incident investigations including "root cause analysis" for corrective action.
  • Performs worksite and incident trend analysis to sustain a comprehensive system for hazard prevention and control.
  • Ensures EHS training program is in place for all employees. Develops and conducts new training programs as needed.


Requirements
Key Skills / Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of proven experience in the EH&S field, preferably in manufacturing industry
  • College degree in Environmental, Health & Safety or related is preferred. Occupational Safety and Health certifications or programs are a must
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in both English and Spanish
  • Must be a self-starter who can effectively evaluate situations and take independent action to expedite the resolution of open issues
  • Good public speaking skills
  • Ability to deal with strict deadlines
