We are currently seeking a highly motivated associate scientist to join our Immunology & Inflammation Discovery Biology group in Cambridge, MA. The successful candidate must demonstrate technical expertise in cellular and/or molecular biology assays to validate therapeutic targets, and perform mechanism of action studies to support programs as they enter and move through clinical development.
Job Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline with at least 4 years work experience or Master's degree with at least 2 years work experience in a relevant field.
Qualifications and Responsibilities:
- Research experience in biology, inflammatory & autoimmune diseases and/or cancer immunotherapy is highly desirable.
- Hands-on experience in isolation, culture, and characterization of primary cells from human or animal tissues is required.
- Experience executing biochemical assays with a variety of readout technologies, including flow cytometry and ELISA is required.
- Excellent communication, presentation, collaboration and organizational skills are required.
- Ability to identify technical problems and potential solutions.
- Ability to demonstrate effectiveness and growth in a fast-paced and dynamic team environment.
Technical/biological Duties:
- Cell culture and cell-based assays.
- Primary cell isolation from whole blood and tissues.
- Cytokine detection experiments using multiplex assay technologies.
- Execute complex biochemical assays, including RNA/DNA isolation, real-time PCR, protein isolation and immunoblotting.
- Travel requirement: less than 20% of the time.
