Government Client Mission Program Summary:

The Department of Defense's (DoD) works cooperatively with allies and partners to reduce or eliminate weapons of mass destruction (WMD) threats. The cooperative nature of the DoD's activities yields a secondary benefit of strengthening regional alliances, deepening existing partnerships, and attracting new partners.

Role Description:

We are actively seeking to identify personnel to join our team of talented professionals who possess the experience, vision, commitment, and integrity to successfully support the strategic goals of the Department of Defense's program.

Noblis is looking to hire Biothreat Reduction Technical Specialists to support the mission in cooperation with partner nations. Responsibilities for the position may include, but are not limited to:

  • Assess, evaluate, and recommend solutions to resolve the multitude of technical issues that may evolve in conjunction.
  • Provide expertise to support multidisciplinary and multinational research project development and implementation (i.e., disease surveillance, pathogen biology, etc.), experimental design, research management and oversight to include animal and human use protocols; biosafety & biosecurity compliance, laboratory operations; and standard operating procedures.
  • Provide expertise in public health fundamentals, including infectious disease surveillance, laboratory detection, and epidemiologic investigation, and understand polices and strategies to improve prevention, detection, and control of infectious diseases, with specific focus on approaches to prevent emergence and spread of diseases.
  • Provide expertise in laboratory design, layout, and operations to ensure optimal workflow and functionality.
  • Provide subject matter expertise in epidemiology, biosafety, and bio- surveillance, and disease reporting systems, including assistance in requirements review, development oversight, security, test and evaluation, integration efforts, and implementation of the systems and software.
  • Provide expertise in veterinary and clinical medicine, laboratory diagnostics, epidemiology, and biosafety to assist in the review of training materials developed by the government partners and contractors across all program countries.

· Learn about the Noblis business development lifecycle, processes, tools, and account structure
· Contribute specialized domain or technical content to proposal sections or client white papers
· Build a productive relationship with your client and understand their structure and goals

Required skills and knowledge:

  • Education/Experience:
    • 0-3 years (BA/BS degree), 4 years (Associates degree), or 6 years (No degree) of relevant experience in Biosafety, Clinical Medicine, Epidemiology, Veterinary/Zoology, or Laboratory Diagnostics.
      If the candidate is qualifying based on having a degree, the candidate must possess a degree in biology, informatics (with emphasis on bioinformatics), applied mathematics (with emphasis on disease surveillance modeling), microbiology, epidemiology, veterinary, public health, clinical medicine, or a related field.
  • DoD SECRET clearance or higher, or ability to obtain a U.S. clearance.


Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience working with the U.S. government on areas concerning national security.
  • Familiarity with State-level and regional WMD threats.
  • Familiarity with nonproliferation obligations, approaches, and objectives.
  • International engagement experience.
  • Excellent communication, written, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects which includes prioritizing, tracking, attention to detail, follow-up and follow-through to project completion.
  • Flexibility/adaptability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Candidates with a Secret, Top Secret, or Top Secret/SCI clearance are preferred.
