South San Francisco, CA - OR - Pleasanton CA / Genetic Services Division - Human Identification
How will you make an impact?
As a member of the Human Identification R&D group you will assist in the technical development of new products, evaluate new technologies and troubleshoot/improve existing technologies. The ideal candidate will be experienced with standard molecular biology techniques, especially PCR based assay.
What will you do?
- Collaborate with cross functional teams on product development projects.
- Independently plan and execute experiments to test new assay formulations.
- Handle lab management duties such as reordering supplies, scheduling instrument calibrations and ensuring safety and QA compliance.
How will you get here?
- EDUCATION
B.S. or M.S. degree with demonstrated background in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry or other closely related subject area.
- EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree with minimum of 2 years of related experience; or an advanced degree with limited experience. Bachelor's degree with internships or co-ops may be considered.
- Hands-on wet lab experience - PCR based assays preferred
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills
