PDS Tech, Inc. is seeking a Molecular Biology Scientist in Eugene, OR
Position Summary:
- The Scientist III will be responsible for supporting development of automated workflows and products for single cell analysis using advanced sequencing and imaging instrumentation.
Responsibilities:
- Method development and optimization of automated single cell genomic analysis workflows
- Benchmark single cell assays and instrumentation
- Quantitative cell-based assays using fluorescence microscopy, flow cytometry and genomic sequencing
- Culture a wide variety of mammalian cell lines (including primary cells, PBMCs, T-Cells)
- Work with biologists, engineers and software developers on a cross-functional team
- Maintain a detailed lab notebook documenting all testing and protocol development
- Plan and perform experiments, and analyze data with minimal guidance
- Clearly communicate and present results
- Contributes well-considered ideas for new products and improvements to procedures
Minimum Qualifications :
- A Ph.D. in biology, immunology or a related field, with relevant post-doctoral industrial or academic experience or a BS/MS with 4-6 years of relevant industrial or academic experience
- Experience with liquid handling, automation and/or other high-throughput tools and instrumentation
- Expertise in bulk and single cell experiments and data analysis
- General cell biology experience, including cell culture, sorting, and counting
- Familiarity with diverse sample types and processing methods, including adherent and suspension cell lines
- Proficiency in mammalian cell culture and standard molecular biology skills (PCR, transfection, etc.)
- Experience in next generation sequencing
- Experience working with and isolating PBMCs from blood
- Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies quickly
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Must be detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously

- Familiarity with single cell assays and platforms (10x Genomics, Dolomite Bio, 1CellBio, Mission Bio, BD, Fluidigm, etc.)
- Familiarity with automated liquid handling platforms (Hamilton, Tecan, Biomek, etc.)
