APCC is looking for an entry-level engineer/scientist to perform air pollution emission measurements for clients in the North-East region of the United States. The field of air pollution testing is an environmental science, which is constantly evolving and highly complex. It is subject to a multitude of regulations at state and federal levels that require continual education and study to maintain proficiency. Environmental/Industrial experience a plus but not required.

APCC performs air pollution emission and indoor air quality measurements for industrial and commercial clients. Projects include the mobilization of high tech measurement equipment at remote locations in the industrial environment, making measurements and reporting data to clients as well as regulatory agencies.

The responsibilities include:

· Preparation of equipment and material for mobilization to job sites
· Field work at customer sites as part of a team
· Repair and maintenance of technical equipment and instruments
· Laboratory analysis of field samples
· General lab work: lab-ware cleaning, media preparation, chemical handling

This person will initially be working as part of a team supporting senior staff during completion of test programs, with potential for advancement leading towards the management of these projects.

The ideal candidate will:

Have an AS/BS in a physical science or engineering technology
Have good scientific method and deductive reasoning skills
Have good computer skills (MS Word and Excel)
Be a self-starter, able to work alone or as part of a team.
Have good written and verbal communication skills; be dependable, motivated, and flexible.
Be willing/able to travel extensively. Travel is typically for 2-5 day periods during the work week. Weekend travel is uncommon but occasionally necessary.
Be comfortable working outdoors year round
Be comfortable working at elevated locations (>100')
Have a clean driving record
Have skills relevant to technical equipment fabrication and maintenance such as soldering, welding, and metal-work
