What will you do?
- As a core contributor to designing, planning, and executing experiments, Scientist III will bridge benchwork and automation.
- Working alongside scientists and systems engineers, this individual will gather data which will define and drive development of instrument and consumable products in the Genetic Sciences Division.
- Plan, execute and analyze experiments independently and effectively communicate results to the team.
- Work across functions to help provide insight on how generated results drive system design and workflow decisions within the system.
- Interpret results and identify next steps to facilitate data-driven decision making.
- Hands on experience in genetic analysis tools, workflows, and chemistry in at least one of these areas: qPCR, microarray, or NGS
- Familiarity with process of obtaining FDA (and/or CE-IVD) approval of IVD products, preferably in molecular diagnostics.
- collaborative relationships and builds credibility across functions/teams
- Maintains a high level of professional expertise through familiarity with current engineering/scientific literature, competing technologies, and/or products
How will you get here?
Education
- Master's degree in AND one (1) year of relevant industry/academic wet lab experience using a variety of laboratory techniques; OR bachelor's degree in Bioengineering or related discipline AND three (3) years of relevant industry/academic wet lab experience using a variety of laboratory techniques
- Higher levels of experience and education may be considered for higher level roles
?Experience
- Strong skills in molecular biology - specifically, experience with sample preparation and nucleic acid extraction and quantification methods
- Experience with qPCR, and other nucleic acid analysis techniques
- Familiarity with the process of obtaining CE-IVD and/or FDA approval of IVD products (preferably molecular diagnostics) a plus

- Ability to think critically and desire to drive constant improvement
- Highly data-driven/detail oriented with an ability to analyze and interpret results
- Ability to adapt to change and take on unexpected challenges
- Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to efficiently evaluate, prioritize and handle multiple/changing projects and priorities.
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Willingness to travel up to 10%, domestic or internationally
