WSP is currently initiating a search for an Environmental Compliance Specialist/Environmental Scientist for our Minneapolis, Minnesota office. Duties and Responsibilities: - Conduct environmental due diligence assessments of industrial and commercial facilities and vacant properties, including Phase I environmental site assessments and environmental compliance reviews. - Conduct environmental due diligence assessments of roadway corridors. - Synthesize large amounts of information contained in regulatory files, environmental permits, and other environmental documentation. - Assist with regulatory research for environmental compliance support projects. - Assist in preparing for and conducting facility environmental compliance audits, reporting, and conducting post-audit activities. - Evaluate findings, make recommendations, and prepare written and verbal reports. - Collect and document field data and observations in a clear and organized manner utilizing appropriate personal protective equipment and workspace monitoring equipment. - Analyze, evaluate, and interpret field and analytical data obtained during field investigations. - Assist in managing and developing client relationships. Job Requirements

> Minimum Qualifications: - Bachelor of Science degree in environmental science, environmental studies, environmental policy, engineering, earth science or a related discipline plus 0 to 5 years of experience. - Valid US driver's license. - Experience conducting Phase I environmental site assessments following ASTM International Standard E 1527-13 and ASTM Rural Standard E 2247-16 (preferred). - Certifications desired: OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER Training, DOT Training, CPR and First Aid Training, and other related environmental certifications. - Basic knowledge of U.S. environmental laws and regulations, international experience a plus. Experience in air permitting and asbestos management a plus - Job assignments may involve work on waste disposal sites and sites requiring cleanup of hazardous materials. Participation in an OSHA-mandated medical surveillance program will be required, and safety training will be provided before being assigned to work on these sites. Applicants must be able to wear a full-face respirator. - Applicants must be able to work in locations that feature the rough terrain typical of construction sites and to enter and work within facilities that include limited accessibility, moving machinery, and other conditions typical of industrial facilities. - Applicants may be asked to participate in a drug screening program per client requirement. - Must be able to solve problems independently, using knowledge gained from increasing experience. - Self-sufficient, self-motivated and ability to work under pressure of deadlines. - Interest and proficiency in investigative work, with high attention to detail. - Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. - Travel up to 50% of the time. Must be willing to make trips on short notice, including to local sites, and travel via air or land.
