Computational Biology Leader

My client is expanding and seeks a Computational Biology Leader to manage direct reports and develop methods and tools to analyze genomic data. The ideal candidate will take on the following tasks:

* Provide expertise in the analysis of genomes, biosynthetic gene clusters, and evolution

* Independently plan and execute research, as well as guide junior scientists

* Collaborate with microbiology, synthetic biology and biochemistry groups to support ongoing drug discovery programs

* Work with the Data Engineers to improve production pipelines and enrich the genome annotations

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualities:

* PhD with 8+ years of experience, including experience in the biotech industry

* Experience in managing and mentoring teams

* Expertise in data analytics and algorithm development

* Deep technical expertise with commonly used computational genomics tools and methods

* A track record of publications or patents through the application of computational genomics approaches
