Celerion is searching for a full-time Director, Molecular and Cellular Biology to join our Bioanalysis team in Lincoln, Nebraska.

Profile

Celerion is seeking a Director, Molecular and Cellular Biology with extensive expertise in Human Immunology.

They should have significant experience in Immunology techniques to assess cellular response such as flow cytometry, molecular biology and cell based functional assays.

The successful candidate should be able to apply their broad scientific knowledge to finding new solutions to support drug development.

The ideal candidate must be highly collaborative, self-motivated, and eager to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Job Duties

Team management -

  • Ensure all work is performed according to GLP/GCP and local and national requirements and local and global SOPs are followed
  • Responsibility for ensuring that the assigned Laboratory meets its planned revenue and operating margin targets and for meeting client expectations-related quality and TAT
  • Drives company and department culture of teamwork, integrity, trust, respect
  • Hold team accountable to a high standard of critical path execution, business discipline and timely delivery
  • Ensure harmonisation and collaboration with processes and teams across the Celerion service lines.
  • Responsible for talent management within the team including recruitment, appraisals and development of the individuals in the team.
  • Work proactively with our QAU to drive quality improvement throughout the team.
  • Maintain a good understanding of the scientific and regulatory environment for bioanalytical science
  • Generate proposals for new business opportunities
  • Work as part of the Bioanalytical Senior Leadership team to manage the overall Bioanalytical Services
  • Work collaboratively as part of the Celerion Global Bioanalytical Services Division to support the overall global Bioanalytical Services.

Strategic leadership

  • Define overall direction, strategy, processes and systems for MCB to meet laboratory demand and to maintain Celerion's competitiveness in the CRO industry
  • Coordinate/contribute to the execution of strategic initiatives, focused on improving business
  • Coach and mentor the young scientists in the Global Bioanalytical Services division
  • Setting SMART goals and objectives for the team and ensuring that these are managed appropriately.
  • Drive scientific innovation and lead initiatives to ensure Celerion is a leader in the CRO space for MCB
  • Generate external collaborations to keep Celerion at the front of scientific developments
  • Increase Celerions presence in Bioanalytical community through active involvement in meetings and societies
  • Present at scientific meetings, participate in scientific societies and work with clients and internal Celerion operations to publish scientific work

Business Development/Marketing -

  • Support Business Development associates as a MCB subject matter expert
  • Provide input and feedback on new opportunities for work based on scientific expertise and experience and participate in response to inquiries or requests for proposals
  • Provide technical/scientific guidance and leadership to study teams as a subject matter expert, as well as other areas of the company to support all the lines of business Work with Celerion Marketing to prepare webinars, videos and other marketing material
  • Work with Celerion senior management to investigate potential growth opportunities for the company


Job information

  • Bachelor's degree and significant industry or research experience (15+ yrs) or Master's degree in life science (immunology or equivalent) with 10+ yrs experience or PhD degree in life science (immunology or equivalent) with 7+ years experience focused on Human Immunology. ;
  • Significant experience in Immunology techniques to assess cellular response such as flow cytometry, molecular biology and cell based functional assays.
  • Working knowledge of pharmaceutical development and GLP/GCP preferred.
  • Key skills required, proficiency with computers, excellent oral and written communication skills in English, self-motivated and team oriented.
