The Human Resource Department is now accepting applications for the position of Nature Center Coordinator in the Department of Parks, Recreation, Maintenance, Nature Center, and Senior Center. Applications (with proof of education and experience) will be accepted until 11:59 p.m., May 17, 2021.

Job Summary: This position plans, organizes, coordinates, and conducts interpretive programs to promote the Burgess-Shadbush Nature Center. Perform clerical and administrative support for the day-to-day operations to ascertain all aspects of the Nature Center are efficiently and effectively meeting the needs of the residents of the community.

Employment Status: Full-time

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt (80 hours)

Experience Required: Minimum of (2) two years work experience in education or a Science or Nature related field.

Minimum Education Requirements: Possession of Bachelor's Degree from an accredited College or University with a major in Conservation, Biology, Wildlife, Natural Sciences, Ecology, or related field.

Direct Supervisor: Department Head, Assistant Department Head, and/or Employee of Higher Classification

Supervisory Responsibility: Yes

People Supervised: Direct (0), Indirect (+/- 10) Supervise and/or train employees and volunteers in the same classification or lower depending on the task.

Physical Requirements: Physically mobile, walk, crawl, climb, and maneuver where physical mobility is required to complete the duties of the job. Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and objects weighing up to 30-35 pounds. Visual and hearing acuity.

Primary Work Location: Indoor public building and outdoor park setting.
