ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
  • Independently perform field work and environmental evaluations
  • Prepare basic environmental reports
  • Provide advice to clients on environmental application process; may participate in the public involvement processes
  • Perform quality control checks for accuracy and conformance with standards
  • Responsible for development of project deliverables and operational information, timely presentation of project deliverables to clients, and accurate and timely completion of all project functions
  • Monitor and mitigate any material issues that may impact project profitability or quality standards
  • Advise management team of technical and managerial developments that may have a material impact on C.E.R.M. and the applicable business group practice
  • Ensure that project files are properly set-up and maintained throughout the project lifecycle in accordance with C.E.R.M. standards and client engagement agreements where applicable
  • Maintain a clean and orderly working environment for the project team and business group

Perform all other tasks and duties, as assigned by the Business Group Manager or Managing Director

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge and technical competencies in generally accepted project management principles, including the use of computers and industry specific software
  • Proficient written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work with little direction in all project deliverable functions
  • Ability to prepare workload projections
  • Ability to work collaboratively with outside engineering firms or outside agencies during joint projects to achieve common goals and positive results


Required Experience

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor of Science (or Applied Science) degree in Engineering, Physical Science (e.g., geology, chemistry), Biological Science (e.g., biology, ecology) or related field
  • 10 Years of Experience conducting environmental health and safety investigations, assessments, training, inspections, and/or monitoring, to include design of remedial activities
  • Proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget with documented client satisfaction


LICENSURES, CERTIFICATIONS, AND REGISTRATIONS:
  • 40-hour HAZWOPER certification and Asbestos Worker Certification required or must obtain certifications within 60-days of hire
  • Valid Georgia Driver's License and maintain a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) that meets company policy standards


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Must be able to stand for hours at a time
  • Must be able to perform physical labor and strenuous tasks e.g., heavy lifting (up to 50lbs.), frequent bending, and crouching, as well as move or carry related objects or materials
  • Must be able to wear and use personal respirator equipment and other forms of personal protective equipment (PPE)


WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • Must be able to work in extreme weather conditions and temperatures
  • 50% office environment/50% field environment
  • Travel between CERM office and various project sites as required
  • Available to respond to environmental emergencies for 24-hour on call services during a work shift as needed
  • Must be willing and able to travel out of town on short notice for weeks or months at a time as required
