Reports To: Upper School Principal

Status: Full Time or Part Time Salary, Exempt

Start Time: 2021 - 2022 School Year, beginning August 2021

Job Summary: This position will perform all duties of an upper school classroom teacher to include all lesson plan preparation, constituency communications, grading, student feedback and development, instructing multiple sections of college preparatory Biology and a section of Anatomy and Physiology.

Essential functions of the job may include but are not limited to the following:

  • Plan, prepare and deliver lesson plans and instructional materials that facilitate active learning
  • Communicate necessary information regularly to students, colleagues and parents regarding student progress and student needs
  • Must be able to integrate faith and learning
  • Must be comfortable working in a denominationally diverse community

Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Biology, Science Education, or a comparable field of study
  • Licensed teacher with 7-12 certification for the state of Ohio or qualifying experience
  • Experience designing and implementing laboratory investigations in a classroom setting
  • Two years of life science classroom experience - Preferred
  • Experience teaching an Anatomy and Physiology elective - Preferred
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
  • Must have the ability report to work on a regular and punctual basis
