We are seeking an HSE Director for a specific JLL client account in the Central US Region. This role will require 20-25% travel across the US and will be virtual the remainder of the time. Qualified individuals will be ideally located in the Central Region and report to our Regional HSSE Director.

The Health, Safety & Environmental Director is the main point of contact for all HSSE functions for a growing JLL client account. The. HSE Director will be responsible for implementing and managing JLL Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) programs and operations across the account globally and for leading compliance programs that meet JLL, client and statutory requirements.

Leadership/SME
  • Play a lead role in the continued development and refinement of JLL's Safety culture and training programs on the account globally.
  • Develop a global strategy for the evolution and implementation of our HSE program to support client focus on the Real Estate Services Global Operating Model
  • Provide technical expertise, strategic leadership, and support for all various JLL facilities, (including all acquisitions) on regulatory compliance issues and team safety.
  • Provide oversight and alignment for training/presentations as needed on specific topics applicable to the account employees.
  • Support the JLL HSE Platform Globally in rolling out new compliance and best management practices programs across the account.
  • Collaborate with other Jones Lang LaSalle Safety managers to learn best practices and publish best practices developed on client account for benefit of all firm clients.


Training
  • Manage all aspects of HSE training from reporting, tracking, maintaining, developing, and providing training to the account.
  • Provide Safety Training (train the trainer) to ensure that facility teams (both site specific and portfolio-wide) receive required training, including but not limited to: Confined Space, Power truck, Ergonomics.
  • Support behavioral based safety training program (SafeStart).


Reporting
  • Oversee the tracking and monitoring of HSE global performance metrics and manage all HSE reporting in partnership with account teams.
  • Ensure incident reports are done on time, account KPIs are maintained, OSHA logs are accurate, and all incidents and injuries are escalated on time.
  • Partner with Client HSE team to define and implement programs for local and national environmental compliance reporting including chemical inventories, EPCRA, spill containment, generator registration/permitting and air emissions (in particular), site commissioning and decommissioning processes.
  • Analyze and track audits - create and submit regular reports as needed.
  • Manage and provide Safety oversight to the trending factors and indicators to management on a monthly basis. Provide JLL Central Team and Client with current and historical Safety data to perform to all CPI/KPI metrics


Site Support
  • Create, develop, and support implementation of HSE policies, practices and programs at the site level that will be leveraged across the global portfolio where applicable.
  • Provide guidance and advice on HSE management at all levels on the account.
  • Provide technical advice on all relevant HSE issues to the account team and on changes in legislation that will impact service delivery.
  • Lead HSE standards to prevent accidents, incidents and events that could harm employees and/or property of client.
  • Provide direct support to JLL employees on all matters related to industry HSE compliance, as well as specific client compliance or site-specific operating requirements.
  • Promote and develop a positive Health and Safety culture at all levels throughout the account.


Maintain Compliance
  • Support sites during audits from client, corporate, HSE staff, as well as outside agencies such as OSHA, fire/building departments, health inspectors, air quality inspectors, and insurance representatives.
  • Support the health and safety sections for the Engineering Services Compliance Program.
  • Support the Account Leadership team and Global Service Line leads by managing the training program for the account including document creation, tracking, and reporting.
  • Assist in the assurance of compliance with all HSE Sections of the Engineering Services Compliance Program (OCP/CMO).
  • Become the primary point-of-contact for the HSE sections of the JLL OCP/CMO audit program and assist in managing the annual requirement.


Incident Investigation and Inspections
  • Support and assist sites with root cause investigations and near miss presentations.
  • Conduct HSE Systems inspections and audit workplace standards and activities.
  • Ensure that HSE accidents, injuries, near misses/good catches, and other events are captured, and the data is managed and reported. Manage the OSHA 301/300 recordkeeping requirements for the account. Also, be the Account's Administrator for the JLL Accident & Incident Management System.
  • Participate with operating sites as needed to lead or support investigations of serious safety events, the analysis of root cause(s), support/track the implementation of effective corrective actions, and prepare communications to share the lessons-learned from such events across the account operations
  • All other duties and tasks assigned.


Skills, Knowledge & Abilities
  • Knowledge and understanding of relevant standards, legislation, codes of practice, guidance and operating procedures.
  • Presentation skills to deliver specialist advice at all levels and to deliver localized training to staff as required.
  • Strong organizational skills, information management proficiency and collaborative management style are needed.
  • Ability to keep abreast of trends and related best practice.
  • Evidence of strong interpersonal skills in order to establish credibility with colleagues and senior management.
  • Ability to work through and identify the root cause of any problem
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to carry out an audit and gather objective evidence through observation, interview and sampling of documents and records
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products such as Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook


Requirements
  • Bachelors' degree in safety management, industrial hygiene, environmental science, or relevant field.
  • 8-10+ years of EH&S experience.
  • Relevant professional certification(s) or masters' degree a plus.
  • Six Sigma or LEED certifications highly desired
  • GMP/GxP experience highly desired
  • General Industry OSHA certifications desired (CHM, CSHM, CIH, CSP, CEP, etc.)
  • Practical working knowledge of Health and Safety tools and techniques, ideally within a Facilities Management environment.
  • 20-25% national trave
