Job Description: TechLaw Consultants is seeking a full time entry-level to mid-level environmental geologist/engineer/scientist with 0-5 years of experience for our Golden, CO office. This individual will provide support for our environmental consulting work for the Department of Defense, Environmental Protection Agency, other Federal, State and local government agencies, and non-profits. Our scientists, engineers, and project managers are experts in hydrogeology, geology, chemistry, risk assessment, soil science, sampling and analysis, hazardous waste investigations, remediation, and public outreach who assist the Department of Defense, EPA, other government agencies, and non-profits on various contracts throughout the U.S. This position will assist our technical support efforts to our clients evaluating and preparing environmental investigation and remediation work plans, designs and reports, developing strategies for the remediation and closure of large CERCLA and RCRA sites, evaluating site documentation for compliance with federal, state and local standards, report writing, and implementing/overseeing field investigation/remediation activities.

Salary Range: $40,000 to $70,000 DOE

Required Qualifications:
  • A bachelor's or master's degree in geology, hydrogeology, engineering, physical science, earth science, or related field
  • Zero to five years of experience with environmental investigation and remediation activities, such as:
    • Drilling, environmental media sampling, well installation, site assessments, and document review and preparation
    • Operation of GPS and electronic data collection devices
    • Operation and maintenance of field equipment and meters
    • Oversight and implementation of remediation tasks including subcontractor management
    • Environmental field data management, QA/QC, and interpretation
    • AutoCAD or GIS development of maps and figures
    • Remediation and sampling program design and calculations
  • Willingness to learn new tasks
  • Ability to travel approximately 20% of the time is required
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs and Adobe Acrobat
  • Demonstrate excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills
  • Good written and oral communication skills, organizational skills, attention to detail and demonstrated ability to meet deadlines

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and changing environment; flexible and quickly adaptable to changing priorities

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Some experience working on Department of Defense and Superfund sites as well as knowledge of RCRA and CERCLA preferred
  • Current HAZWOPER 40-hr training
  • EIT/GIT certification with ability to work toward PE/PG
  • First Aid CPR Training
  • Mechanical capabilities to operate and care for field equipment, including analytical instrumentation

Physical Requirements:
  • The position requires the physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs., including loaded coolers and equipment
  • Must have the flexibility and ability to travel 25% of the time
  • Must have a valid driver's license, good driving record and be able to drive in company provided vehicle

Additional Requirements:

The position requires the ability to pass a background check to access Department of Defense sites.
