Job Description Summary
The EHS Specialist will provide support and leadership for Plant 1 (part of Lynn Component Manufacturing) comprising of 2 buildings onsite. This role communicates and leads business goals, programs, and processes related to Environmental, Health & Safety initiatives.
Job Description
Essential Responsibilities
- Develop new Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) programs as required
- Lead the validation of health, safety and environmental Frameworks to ensure 100% compliance with federal, state, and local regulatory requirements
- Drive improvements in site EHS culture, awareness, and accountability
- Embrace and utilize Lean methodology to drive sustainable EHS improvements
- Lead efforts to operationalize EHS at site
- Ensure site personnel understand and comply with all environmental permits
- Plan and conduct EHS training
- Oversee compliance assurance program, perform site audits, and lead efforts with management team to implement corrective actions
- Conduct incident / accident investigations and develop corrective and preventative action plans
- Maintain EHS expertise to provide technical and regulatory support to Operations team
- Maintain site EHS metrics and work cooperatively with EHS HQ on various projects and initiatives, including GHG reduction, sustainability, and culture change
- Complete Six Sigma projects to reduce defects and cost
- Act as primary liaison with regulatory agencies concerning all EHS issues
- Understand regulatory changes and trends and forecast site impacts
- Actively contribute to the direction and content of site EHS programs
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college
- 3 years experience in Manufacturing and / or Environmental, Health and Safety
