The Planner/Environmental Analyst intern will work at least 10 hours per week for a minimum of 12 weeks. Compensation or college credit will be commensurate with experience. This internship is not eligible for standard employee benefits.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
Responsibilities (duties may change day to day):
- Support the Harris Environmental Planning + Compliance team, as needed. This may include but would not be limited to the following:
- Assist with preparation of reports for a number of different disciplines including environmental (CEQA/NEPA), long-range planning, climate/adaptation and/or GIS-support
- Assist with planning related tasks, such as spatial analysis, entitlement processing and/or community outreach
- Assist with preparation of technical studies and/or field surveys for air quality, greenhouse gas emissions, noise, cultural resources and biological resources
- Conduct research, data collection, analysis and technical writing
- Assist with document production and deliver/submit documentation to clients or staff, as needed
- Otherwise support the Harris team to produce high quality deliverables on time and within budget
Requirements:
- Currently an undergraduate or graduate student with emphasis in planning, environmental, climate or related field
- Must be a team-player with a positive attitude
- Coursework in the areas of planning, environmental science, GIS, CEQA/NEPA, climate change/adaptation or other related topics
- Knowledge of environmental regulations, including CEQA and NEPA
- Affinity and passion for technical writing
- Strong research, mathematical/scientific and analytical skills
- Strong oral communication/interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- The position may require infrequent travel
- Ability to work from home, with some in-office training required
- Candidates in the San Diego area are preferred
