Mabbett & Associates, Inc. (Mabbett), an award winning environmental, health and safety (EHS) consulting and engineering firm, is seeking a full-time Environmental Specialist to support a variety of environmental projects on-site at a Federal client facility in the downtown Washington, DC Capitol Hill area.
Qualifications
Key Responsibilities
The Environmental Specialist will provide general environmental consulting and in-house support to the Federal agency's environmental programs. This is a hands-on position and typical activities include but are not limited to, interpretation and identification of applicable environmental regulations; preparation of new and the updating of existing standard operating procedures; the development of new and updating of existing environmental programs; internal compliance audits/reviews; training program development and implementation; data entry and analysis; general environmental compliance activities to include waste management; and recordkeeping and reporting.
Base Location
This position is based in SW Washington, DC southwest area near the U.S. Capitol (Capitol South Metro stop).
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or a biological, chemical, or physical science discipline.
- 3-5 years minimum of progressive experience working as an Environmental Specialist-Consultant.
- Strong knowledge of Federal and District of Columbia Environmental regulations.
- Professional experience with field monitoring, sampling and chain-of-custody.
- Must be able to manage multiple and competing priorities and complete tasks on-time in a dynamic environment.
- Possess strong technical, interpersonal, organizational and communications (written and oral) skills.
- Proficient in MS Office software products.
- Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position (i.e., ability to work in the field, work outdoors, lift 35 lbs., etc.).
- U.S. military and/or police force experience preferred.
