Job Summary
AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Entry Level Hydrogeologist for employment in the Seattle, WA office.
This position is expected to begin in March 2021.

With world class technical expertise, leading edge technology and innovative project delivery capability around the world, AECOM's global environmental practice helps industry and government meet their business goals - to achieve compliance, reduce or eliminate risks and manage impacts. We provide advisory and technical services to help clients cleanup and close contaminated sites and surplus operational facilities and restore them for reuse, plan and permit new facilities, address critical climate change issues, restore habitats and water quality, protect natural and cultural resources, maintain compliance, and cost effectively manage residuals and wastes.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
- Provide technical support for development of detailed subsurface investigation work plans.
- Conduct field work including soil logging, well installation, soil and groundwater sampling, slug test and aquifer tests.
- Conduct data analysis for slug tests and aquifer tests.
- Contribute directly to the preparation of technical project deliverables (e.g., boring logs, geologic cross-sections, capture zone reports, remedial investigations, and Phase II environmental site assessments).
- Coordination and supervision of subcontractors.
- Job duties will involve both field and office assignments with occasional overnight travel required.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Geology/Hydrogeology
- Good understanding of chemical fate and transport in groundwater and soil
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Geology/Hydrogeology
- 0-2 years' experience
- Ability to work in the field year round, through varying weather conditions and terrain
- Experience conducting slug tests and aquifer tests and analyzing results using AQTESOLV software or other relevant tools
- Experience logging soils in accordance with Unified Soil Classification System
- Familiarity with three-dimensional groundwater flow models and contaminant fate and transport models
- 40-hour HAZWOPER health and safety training
- Strong writing and communication skills
- Energetic and detail oriented
