There is currently a wide array of preclinical assets in the Client cardiovascular (CV) portfolio that require analysis of multi-omics data to support the translational data package. These experiments often consist of highly complex RNA-Seq datasets, with multiple compounds, doses, and timepoints, with samples from multiple organs in animal models. This hefty book-of-work presently captures a large fraction of the ICF Computational Biology bandwidth which results in the team having to focus on short-term, "straight-to-point" analyses with no time to perform exploratory nor above-asset analyses. Thus, there's a significant opportunity gap in capturing the full value of the datasets generated by the ICF TRC. We are seeking a bioinformatics scientist with hands-on experience to support the timely execution and delivery of pre-clinical omics analyses across the CV portfolio.

Responsibilities
The selected scientist will perform the quality-control and analysis of omics datasets, predominantly RNA-Seq to: assess M.O.A. hypotheses, inform pharmacodynamics (PD) and response biomarkers design, and guide patient stratification strategy. This role will be highly collaborative, interacting with ICF Computational Biology scientist as well as ICF biologists and clinicians.

In addition to delivering analyses of on-going projects, the selected candidate, in collaboration with the ICF Computational Biology, will review the current RNA-Seq analysis workflow design and propose and implement state-of-the-art solutions to streamline the process.

Job Requirements:

Qualifications
• MSc or PhD in bioinformatics, statistics, physics, genetics, or similar
• 3+ years of hands-on experience with next-generation-sequencing data pipelines (secondary analysis) and downstream analysis (tertiary analysis)
• Strong experience in R
• Strong problem-solving and collaboration skills, rigorous and creative thinking
• Exceptionally strong communication, data presentation and visualization skills.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively, and to handle several concurrent, fast-paced projects
• Proven ability to work across organizations to define and solve problems that will benefit the whole.
• Capable of establishing strong working relationships across the organization.
