Position Summary: The School of Allied Health is seeking applications for Dentist Consultant in Dental Assisting Clinic.
Duties:
POSITION: Dentist Consultant in Dental Assisting Clinic

The University of Alaska Anchorage (UAA) Goose Lake Campus is located in Anchorage, Alaska. The attractive wooded campus, at the foot of the Chugach Mountains, serves as a cultural hub for the city. Careful development has left the campus an urban oasis with resident wildlife populations including moose, waterfowl, and birds. The College of Health (COH) is a major center for development and delivery of professional, career and technical, community, and continuing education programs. The School of Allied Health of the College of Health offers Occupational Endorsement Certificates, Undergraduate Certificates, Associate of Applied Science degrees, and Bachelor degrees.

Consultant positions are on a semester-by-semester contract basis. Successful acceptance into the pool does not guarantee an offer of a contract.

The successful incumbent will help train the Dental Assistant students to help work on patients. The scope of training includes oral examinations, reviewing dental x-rays, fillings, extractions, root canals, bridges, crowns, and dental appliances.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Must have the necessary skills to perform the work of a dentist and the ability to work under the Dental Faculty guidelines to improve dental assisting training to the students enrolled in the program.

Required Experience:
Substantial experience working as a Licensed Dentist in the State of Alaska.

Typical Education/Training:
Must be a Licensed Dentist in the State of Alaska. Must hold current CPR certification.

Salary: $75.00/hour

Assignment Information:
Temporary, Non-Exempt (hourly), part-time, and not eligible for benefits.
