We have a great opportunity for a Senior Scientist in the Biology R&D team, focusing on establishing and developing novel and innovative gene editing and gene modulation technologies as part of our core platforms. This is an ideal opportunity for innovative and highly motivated researchers to apply their knowledge of molecular and cellular biology, building on cutting edge skills and novel technologies. Successful candidates should be comfortable working in a dynamic team environment, be well organized with excellent troubleshooting and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and perform innovative experiments to test new ideas and process improvements. Manage all aspects of a project, guiding other team members and providing scientific expertise to influence experimental design and research strategy. Adhere to timelines and flex between projects as needed.
  • Collaborate across different departments, communicate in a clear and effective way, and provide information to the commercial organization for successful product launches and post-launch support. Be able to develop robust data packs that can be used for customer-facing purposes.
  • Document experimental plans and results in accordance with product development and company's quality management system guidelines.

Core skills required:
  • Degree in Biochemistry, Molecular and Cellular Biology, or related field with experience in a biotech industry or leading academic institute (PhD with at least 3 years, MSc with at least 5 years or BS with more than 7 years of post-graduate experience).
  • Strong technical skills in molecular biology techniques including: PCR, qPCR, ddPCR, NGS library prep, flow cytometry, fluorescent microscopy
  • Extensive experience cloning with multiple techniques and experience with CRISPR-Cas genome engineering and modulation
  • Practical experience with different mammalian cellular systems including primary cell models or iPS cells, cell culture, transfections, transductions.
  • Strong experimental design and troubleshooting skills, good organizational ability to plan and prioritize work.
  • Highly motivated, detail-oriented with a proven ability to think innovatively toward solving problems effectively and efficiently.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Strong team player; able to work independently while also being part of a collaborative team.

Compensation range

$108,000 - 114,000
