Environmental Scientist

AECOM is currently seeking an experienced Environmental Scientist II with strong technical experience to work within a team to complete environmental investigation and remediation projects. We seek a technically proficient individual that has strong technical and team building skills, and demonstrated experience successfully supporting investigation and remediation of contaminated sites, including strong experience with developing conceptual site models (CSMs) that detail contaminant sources, nature and extent, migration pathways, and fate and transport mechanisms. A successful candidate must be able to write and convey thoughts and ideas in a clear, concise manner. Excellent communication, organization and prioritization skills will be necessary to work in our collaborative team-oriented offices; strong interpersonal skills are a must. The individual should have relevant technical background in environmental science, geology, or hydrogeology but may also consider physical sciences or engineering.

• Performs standard scientific work requiring application of techniques and procedures.
  
• Detects problems when using standardized procedures because of the condition of sample, difficulties with the equipment, etc.
  
• Conducts specific phases of projects for more experienced scientists.
  
• Proposes appropriate analytical methods and techniques. Assists in providing advice and consulting services within scope of scientific knowledge.
  
• Draws conclusions and makes recommendations based on analysis.
  
• Interprets and records data, conducts analyses, compares findings to relevant studies and local, state and federal regulations to ensure compliance.
  
• Works under general supervision.
