Waste Stream Profiler-Environmental Specialist.
12+ month fully remote contract job. Can sit anywhere in the US. Individual will work within the Environmental Waste Review department of major national medical products company, consumer products company, responsible for evaluating chemical and environmental waste materials from various company plants to determin best way to dispose. Bachelors degree with 1 year of Chemisty. 0-3 years experience; new graduates acceptable. Must be eligible to work in US without sponsorship now or later. $22/hr pay max. 1st shift (8-5,)

Primary Responsibilities include;
- Develops and approves US chemical waste stream profiles (WSP) required under the company Waste Management Program Standard for wastes burned at CG Incinerator or sent for external waste management (labeling, transportation placarding, PPE and safe handing requirements, waste constituents, waste vendor to be used, etc.)
- Work with waste generating plants to profile and classify materials prior to shipment to the Incinerator or outside suppliers to meet waste regulations and requirements of waste disposal operations.
- Work with generating plants on joint projects to ensure regulatory compliance, decrease environmental impact, increase efficiency & reduce overall waste cost to the company.
- Participate in daily code setting meeting to review waste stream profiles and add Incinerator handling codes.
- Maintain knowledge of applicable waste regulations to provide guidance to generating plants and peer waste profile writers.
- Work with outside waste suppliers to classify material for consolidation & shipment per their profile system and to meet applicable regulations.
- Lead & participate in safety & environmental reviews (incident investigations, Process Hazard Analysis, Pre-startup Safety Reviews, Management of Change Reviews)
- Work with cross functional teams within the Incinerator and across company
- Involved with the implementation of environmental stewardship, sustainability, and continuous improvement programs
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a science or engineering discipline from an accredited university
- 1-year college chemistry
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or a related discipline from an accredited university
- US Department of Transportation (DOT) training. Federal EPA & DOT tri-ennial requirement.
- Resource Conservation & Recovery Act (RCRA) training. Federal EPA annual requirement.
- Expertise in DOT/RCRA permit compliance and State and Federal waste management regulations
- Current HAZWOPER training
- Previous environmental experience in an industrial or manufacturing setting is highly desirable
- Experience in environmental compliance reporting
- Experience working with chemical waste generation or disposal
- Chemistry lab experience
- Experience with spreadsheet and/or database application programs (such as Microsoft Excel and/or Access and SharePoint)
- Strong communication skills, and ability to work effectively in teams
