UVA School of Medicine (http://med.virginia.edu/) is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Associate for the Department of Microbiology, Immunology, and Cancer Biology (http://mic.med.virginia.edu/) in the lab of Dr. Andrew Dudley (http://mic.med.virginia.edu/dudley/) .
Our laboratory is focused on the tumor microenvironment. We use cutting edge approaches including transcriptomics and genetically engineered mouse models of cancer to study interactions between cancer cells and the vasculature, tumor immune microenvironments, and invasion/metastasis; especially as relates to brain metastases. The ideal candidate would have a PhD with experience in relevant areas of biology, first-author publication(s) in reputable journals, and enjoy working in a highly interactive, creative, and fun setting, centered on conducting exceptional cutting-edge hypothesis-driven research.
Duties Include:
- Full-time research or scholarship at the University.
- Preparatory for a full-time academic or research career
- Supervised by a senior scholar, and allows the appointee to publish the results of his/her research or scholarship
- In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.
