Job Responsibilities:

• Stay apprised of current and upcoming local, state, and federal regulations and ensure operational compliance accordingly.

• Manage, through ESH liaisons, the coordination of Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) programs in R&D sites across the Americas region.

• Drive the execution of an effective incident reporting and analysis process providing effective root cause analysis, actions that prevent recurrence, lessons learned, and quality data

• Support the case management program which includes Workers' Compensation

• Deploy a risk assessment process that systematically and sustainably reduces risk of injuries, illnesses, and environmental impact

• Deploy a comprehensive and standardized waste management process

• Develop and administer budgets, schedules, and performance requirements for critical service providers

• Conduct meetings involving environmental, health and safety, training and awareness programs

• Provide direction to employees according to established policies and management guidance, act as subject matter expert to business segments, and get involved as required to meet schedules or resolve problems

• Interact frequently with site leadership, supervisors, and/or functional peer group managers

• Conduct presentations of technical information concerning specific projects/schedules, etc.

• Support all regulatory inspections and communications with regulatory agencies or external and internal inquiries

• Train staff on any changes to policy and procedures.

You are best equipped for this position if you have:

• Minimum of 3-5 years of EHS or related Environmental Health and Safety experience in a related industry or environment (chemical, aerospace, electronics, biotech, pharma, etc.)

• Demonstrated knowledge and experience with ISO 14001, ISO 45001, EPA, and OSHA/Cal OSHA standards

• Excellent organizational and follow-up skills

• Strong communications both oral and written

• Ability to collaborate and partner with the business to drive strategic projects to completion in an effective and meaningful way

• Self-starter; independent thinker able to drive results

• Ability to travel to our other sites on the East and West Coasts 10-15% of the time
