Job Description:
Supports EHS department with assignments of specific tasks focused on maintaining safety and environmental compliance and providing technical support to problem resolution in all areas of EHS. Analyzes hazards, provides recommendations for improvement, and executes tasks to support safety and environmental compliance and injury prevention. Performs evaluations and inspections in a heavy manufacturing setting for regulatory compliance and reports findings. Develop, maintain, review, analyze and timely reporting of documentation suitable for legal compliance in specific EHS operations as required by EPA, OSHA, DOT, and other federal/state/local permits/regulations. Perform post-incident investigations for near miss and injuries, report findings, and assist with development of corrective actions. Utilize Microsoft Office and related programs to track data, summarize into presentations, collaborate with groups, and clearly communicate with customers. Perform inspections and repairs for lifting devices, fall protection, fire extinguishers, emergency response, and similar equipment. Perform administrative tasks such as data entry, filing, scheduling, and research. Develop, schedule, and deliver EHS training and other activities. Assists EHS team as needed in day to day activities
Basic Qualifications
- Minimum one year of EHS experience in a related industry (manufacturing preferred) where employee safety is the primary discipline (>50%)
- Working knowledge of OSHA regulations, environmental compliance, fire safety, waste operations, and emergency response
- Strong analytical skills and problem-solving skills
- Strong aptitude for teaching/training and public speaking or group presentations
- Advanced use of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint to analyze data and develop metrics and charts
- Organized, and able to maintain multiple ongoing tasks and projects
- Able to routinely lift/carry 35 pounds, and occasionally up to 50 pounds
- Capable of operating powered industrial trucks (sit down forklift)
- Detail oriented, self-motivated, and able to prioritize based on business needs
- Must occasionally work outside during hot and cold weather and during precipitation event
- Must be able to work overtime or alternate shifts if business needs dictate
Top Candidates will also have
- Degree in EHS or STEM field
- EHS Related certification (BCSP affiliation - ASP, CSP, OHST, etc.)
- Previous experience working in a heavy manufacturing facility
- Mechanical aptitude and comfortable use and understanding of hand/powered tools
- Excellent communication skills
- Working knowledge of overhead lifting, rigging, lifting devices and their use/applications
- Experience conducting Industrial Hygiene sampling
- Experience wearing and fit testing others to wear tight-fitting respirators
Additional Information
Shift: 1st Shift - Full Time
Hours: Monday- Friday, 7am-3pm
Starting pay rate: $19.00
Work location: North Little Rock, Arkansas
