Job Description:
The Environmental Scientist II responsibilities include supporting and contributing to a successful Environmental Services Division through execution of compliance, geosciences, and/or natural resource tasks under the supervision or guidance of a project manager/technical expert. Responsibilities include performance of field activities including site evaluations, data collection, geologic mapping, and soil, groundwater and surface water sampling activities. Responsibilities also include analysis of data, data reduction and preparation of technical reports.
Job Duties:
• Conduct field work and data reduction to support environmental projects.
• Interpret technical information and prepare technical reports.
• Prepare or assist with preparation of registrations, permits and other submittals required by federal, state, or local agencies.
• Perform desktop studies and coordinate with resource agencies to identify project related environmental constraints (TPWD, USFWS, TCEQ, THC and others).
• Conduct environmental construction monitoring for various projects.
• Coordinate activities of subcontractors on assigned projects.
• Conduct and participate in Phase I and/or Phase II Environmental Site Assessments and Geophysical evaluations.
• Conduct and/or participate in Compliance, Natural Resources and Geoscience projects as assigned.
• Participate in regulatory compliance audits.
• Interact with clients as necessary.
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
- 2 - 5 years of applicable experience.
- Applicable experience includes the preparation of compliance permits and plans, including, but not limited to: SWPPPs, SPCC Plans, air permit applications (PBR, NSR, Title V), hazardous waste registration and reporting, Tier II reporting, TRI reporting, and other environmental compliance reports/applications.
- Bachelors Degree in Environmental Science or related field
- 40 Hour HAZWOPPER is preferred but not required
