----Job Description----
Environmental Assessment Services, LLC (EAS) is a nationally known, scientific environmental characterization company based in Eastern Washington since 2005.

We have an opportunity for a Biology Technician to join our team. In this role the technician will assist with the operation by monitoring and reporting of the assigned project area.

In addition, the position will be responsible for the following:

Collecting and identifying various species of fish for ongoing monitoring programs via boat or backpack electroshocking, gill net or trammel net, and hook and line sampling.

Programming, downloading, and processing data from Lotek 400, 600, and 800 radio receivers, performing mobile radio tracking surveys via boat or truck, compiling, and processing data, converting data from field data sheets to excel spreadsheets.

Performing Necropsy to identify and quantify Gas Bubble Trauma in fish stomach content analysis or parasite loading.

Surgical implant Radio and PIT tag transmitters in fish.

Cleaning and maintaining the fishway, fish sorting facility, fish transport pods and Fish lab.

Assisting in the development and quality control for daily, weekly, monthly, and annual reports on fishway activities.

Assisting with wildlife restoration and monitoring.

Assisting with stream habitat restoration and monitoring.

Assisting with water quality monitoring projects.

Ideal candidates will have a Bachelor of Science in Fisheries or related area of study; minimum of three months paid or nine months volunteer work experience in a Natural Resources position; must be able to perform work on a boat and perform duties during inclement weather; available during nights, weekend, and holidays.

Desired Qualifications: Regional fish identification experience. experience handling fish, field observation and data collection experience. boat operation experience, experience with electroshocking boat and/or backpack.
