GHD has an exciting opportunity for an Environmental Eengineer to work with our EHS Complinace Group based in St. Paul, MN
Working with the EHS Compliance group, this position offers good variety of work and will see you involved in:

Provide engineering and consulting services for a wide range of environmental projects and industries. The job responsibilities include conducting multi-media environmental compliance audits, developing strategies for environmental compliance for the clients, preparing technical documents including proposals, reports, and regulatory agency correspondence, Phase I/II environmental site assessments, developing SPCC plans, SWPPP, facility response plans (FRP) and other regulatory environmental plans. The candidate needs to be able to communicate complex regulatory issues and concepts to technical and non-technical clients and project teams. Excellent regulatory knowledge is a requirement for this position.
The Successful Candidate Will
  • Manage several projects simultaneously involving due diligence, Phase I/II environmental site assessments, compliance audits, permitting and facility compliance support
  • Perform compliance and recordkeeping audits and provide regulatory determinations for state and federal regulations, including Clean Air Act (CAA) (NSPS, NESHAPs, etc.), BACT, CWA/NPDES, RCRA, and SPCC
  • Conduct SARA TRI/Tier II reporting evaluations and prepare associated reporting forms (Form R, Tier II)
  • Interact with regulatory agencies to successfully process permit application packages
  • Prepare SPCC plans and SWPPP for construction and industrial storm water permits
What you will bring to the team
  • B.S. degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemistry or a related field
  • 3-5 years of compliance experience (including air, water, waste, storm water, and RCRA permitting, SARA reporting, SPCC, SWPPP, etc.) and environmental due diligence experience (including Phase I and Phase II environmental site assessments) for manufacturing and industrial sites
  • Knowledge of regulatory environmental requirements in Minnesota, Iowa, Illinois, Ohio, Wisconsin, and surrounding states
  • Working compliance experience in the Midwest region of the United States. Experience in other States outside of the Midwest are also preferable.
  • Excellent technical writing skills
  • Data compilation, reduction, interpretation, evaluation/comparison to environmental regulatory standards
  • Ability to effectively communicate with other technical professionals, clients, and regulatory officials
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Willingness to travel 20% of the time, local/regional
  • OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER training is a plus
