Job Scope & Purpose:

Our Cambridge based client is looking for a strong RA/Sr. RA to join their team. Mammalian cell culture with multiple cell lines is the core of this role, with experience in CRISPR/shRNA/siRNA as well as qPCR and WB all being second to that. Primary Job Responsibilities:
  • Characterize and maintain cancer cell lines in support of our early-stage, drug discovery programs
  • Perform target validation experiments
  • Identify new targets, context dependencies, and clinical indications
  • Design and execute cell-based assays to identify and characterize potential drug candidates
  • Perform mechanism-of-action studies to better understand how our drug candidates are affecting transcription factors and their regulatory networks
  • Learn and apply new experimental techniques as required
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date records in an electronic laboratory notebook
  • Organize and present experimental results at regular lab meetings

Primary Job Requirements:
  • BS/MS in cell biology or related discipline with 2+ years of laboratory experience in an academic or biopharmaceutical setting
  • Extensive experience with mammalian cell culture, including genome editing (CRISPR), knockdown approaches (shRNA, siRNA), and over-expression techniques (transient or stable expression, lentiviral or plasmid overexpression)
  • Hands-on experience with in vitro approaches, including nucleic acid isolation, qRT-PCR, western blot, ELISA, and MSD platform-based assays
  • Experience performing cell-based assays, including proliferation, viability, and reporter assays in 96 and 384 well formats
  • Previous drug discovery experience in cancer biology would be a plus
  • Capable of working both independently and in a collaborative environment
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Exhibits high degree of integrity and professionalism when interacting with outside investigators and vendors
  • Entrepreneurial and enjoys working in a fast-paced, creative and resourceful small company environment
