Summary

Dr. Pengxiang Huang, Assistant Professor and CPRIT scholar, is seeking an enthusiastic postdoctoral associate to join his new laboratory in the Department of Molecular and Cellular biology at Baylor College of Medicine (BCM). Dr. Huang's research focuses on elucidating the poorly understood mechanisms involved in the Hedgehog (Hh) and Wnt signaling pathways (Cell. 166:1176-87; Cell. 174:312-24). The Huang lab utilizes a combination of biochemistry, cell, chemical and structural biology approaches, including both X-ray crystallography and Cryo-EM. Candidates with a Ph.D. in these areas and prior training in structural biology are encouraged to apply.

Job Purpose

Postdoctoral Associates are trainees working in an apprenticeship mode in preparation for a career as a scientific professional.

Job Duties

• Plan, direct and conduct specialized and advanced research experiments.

• Evaluate and analyze data.

• Establish new research protocols and procedures.

• Summarize research findings and publish results in research journals.

• Responsible for laboratory operations.

• Supervise research staff.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education Required: MD or Ph.D. in Basic Science, Health Science, or a related field.
  • Experience Required: None Required.
  • Certification/Licenses/Registration: None Required.


Preferred Qualifications

Preferred: Previous experience with biochemistry and/or structural biology techniques.
