As Synthetic Biology Foundry Team Lead the candidate will be responsible for managing
operations of a dynamic team of scientists, software engineers, and automation specialists
working in the area of DNA manufacturing to enable the next-generation of synthetic biology
products. The candidate will interact with business, scientific and sales teams across the
organization to build and grow a platform with world-class synthetic DNA capabilities.Responsibilities:Assume responsibility for operationalizing a state-of-the-art synthetic biology foundry leveraging lab automation to support key workflows.Manage a multi-disciplinary team focused on DNA manufacturing.Meet project deliverables.Oversee operational metrics and ensure continuous improvement of activities in the foundry.Work with R&D teams to implement production quality workflows for synthetic DNA capabilities.Maintain world-leading knowledge in the field of synthetic biology.Demonstrate a commitment to diversity, inclusion, and cultural awareness through actions, interactions, and communications with others.Basic qualifications:PhD in molecular biology, biotechnology, biology, bioinformatics, bioengineering, or related field.At least 7 years of experience managing teams and leading independent research projects.Deep subject matter expertise in molecular biology and synthetic biology, including DNA assembly methods.Previous experience implementing lab automation workflows to enable high throughput experiments.Demonstrated ability to lead a multidisciplinary team.Great analytical skills and a logical approach to problem solving.Strong communication skills, both written and oral.Ability to execute and thrive in a dynamic startup environment.Advanced qualifications:Experience leveraging AI/ML in complex workflows.
