Our Environmental/Ecological Risk team is looking for a Senior Environmental Risk Assessor / Toxicologist to join their group. This is a phenomenal chance to make an impact on the community in which we live.

In this role, you'll see yourself applying your toxicology background to support regulatory compliance determinations, reuse of waste materials, and conducting environmental risk assessments.

These projects involve addressing waste material and soil, groundwater, sediment and surface water contamination; performing fate/transport and exposure modeling (including vapor intrusion, air emission and dispersion); statistical analysis; spatial analysis; developing remediation/risk management plans; and providing technical support for multiple and diverse project teams.

A further aspect of this role is to support product registration and compliance determinations under Federal regulatory programs that control the distribution and use of chemicals in the market place (e.g. USEPA's Toxic Substances Control Act [TSCA] and Health Canada's Pest Management Regulatory Agency [PMRA]).

Specific responsibilities in this role will include:
  • Preparing product registration/stewardship and compliance documents
  • Evaluating toxicological data, including published research and toxicity assessments
  • Interpreting site characterization data
  • Leading and performing statistical and spatial data analysis
  • Performing contaminant fate/transport and exposure modeling
  • Quantitatively evaluating human and ecological risks
  • Preparing technical reports and other written communications
  • Risk communication to internal GHD project teams, clients, regulators, and stakeholders

For success in this position, you will possess the following skills and qualifications:
  • Master's and/or PhD degree in Toxicology, Ecotoxicology, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering or related field
  • Diplomate of the American Board of Toxicology (DABT) certification or ability to obtain DABT certification is required for Toxicologists
  • 5-15 years of professional experience in the fields of toxicology, human & ecological health risk assessment
  • Experience working with industrial clients is a must
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong technical writing abilities
  • Excellent organizational skills with ability to prioritize projects and tasks in a fast paced environment
