Job Scope & Purpose:

Our Cambridge biotech client is seeking a highly motivated, do it all research associate to join their efforts in the Discovery Biology group to participate in building a discovery pipeline in a diversity of tissue types. This individual will contribute across programs to scientific efforts focused on building a relationship between the correction of gene expression profiles and functional improvement of disease phenotypes in complex human cellular models. This team is a clinical-stage company focused on improving the lives of patients with genetically defined rare diseases in areas of high unmet medical need.

Primary Job Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and execute experiments across human primary and iPSC-derived cell culture models of diseases to expand, quality control, perform target ID/validation, and identify functional phenotypes.
  • Perform a variety of molecular biology techniques including qRT-PCR, high-content imaging, MSD or other protein quantification methods, MEA/FLIPR electrophysiology, and Seahorse metabolic pathway assays, among others.
  • Integrate scale and automation into everyday workstreams.
  • Actively participate across functional groups and programs to provide knowledge of physiological, biochemical and pharmacologic techniques required to examine target expression, modulation, and function.
  • Plan experiments, analyze complex data sets, and clearly communicate results/recommendations to the larger group.

Primary Job Requirements:
  • BS/MS in the life sciences
  • At least 2 years of hands-on lab experience with Mammalian cell culture, especially with Stem Cells (iPSC) along with Cell based assay experience - qPCR, MSD, ELISA, etc.
  • Ability to identify and solve technical issues
  • Excellent written and oral communication
  • Strong attention to detail
  • A team player mentality
