How will you make an impact?
The Advanced Cell Systems Characterization team at ThermoFisher is responsible for testing various Primary tissue derived products including cells, RNA and subcellular fractions along with reagents and for a variety of biological applications.
What will you do?
- Manages production supply chain of Raw Materials, Work in Process and Finished Goods through management systems.
- Direct the overall production (products and/or services) activities of a team of 5 individuals to ensure on time delivery of projects or products to customers
- Direct supervision and participation of production work includes cell culture, analytical methods and reagent preparations.
- Demonstrate a basic understanding of scientific principles, cellular biology.
- Provides encouragement to team members, including communicating team goals and identifying areas for new training or skill checks
- Engages in the hiring processes and new team member training
- Supports department manager and performs management duties when manager is absent or out of office
- Answers team member questions, helps with team member problems, and oversees team member work for quality and guideline compliance
- Conduct 1:1 meetings and drive weekly prioritization discussions
- Performs performance reviews, merit and ICP activities.
- Conducts team meetings to update members on best practices and continuing expectations
How will you get here?
- Bachelor's degree required in Biology or related field.
- 5+ years of testing experience within a Cell Biology or Quality Control area
- 2+ years' experience leading teams.
- Experience working in a Manufacturing environment, a plus.
- Have experience working in a team environment
- Experience staying focused and being proactive
- Be able to multitask and respond to shifting priorities
- Must be reliable, and self-motivated, coming up with creative and innovative ways to solve problems.
- Be a quick learner and drive results.
